Organic Makeup

Do you know what is
really inside your makeup bag?

Are you ready for the radiant beauty of using organic makeup?

In the world today, one can never be quite sure what is included in the ingredients of their makeup. That is unless they are a scientist or stay up to date on all the latest breaking news concerning the ingredients makeup in all its aspects.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), who is the US watchdog for the manufacture of food and drugs, including cosmetic and skin care products, does not require cosmetic manufacturers to register with them. Read more about the FDA's authority over cosmetics.

In September 2007, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) had tests conducted by an independent laboratory on red lipsticks manufactured by top brands L’Oreal, Cover Girl and Christian Dior.

The results: More than half of 33 brand-name lipsticks tested (61 percent) contained detectable levels of lead. None of these lipsticks listed lead as an ingredient. One-third of the tested lipsticks exceeded the FDA's limit for lead in candy.

Like my wife, many individuals would wear nothing else, so you are not alone in your concerns for a fresh healthy alternative to traditional types of makeup. Let’s face it, quality makeup can cost a good bit of money, and we all want the best we can get with the money we spend. We all want a wholesome healthy appearance.

Let’s take a good look as to why organic makeup is the best choice of makeup to use.

  • Organic makeup does not include various potentially harmful chemicals, artificial dyes, talc, perfumes and preservatives which can cause skin irritations and allergies as well as other unpleasant and unnecessary side effects.
  • It also is waterproof, so it will not smear off onto your clothing and features some protection from the harmful rays of the sun, which can cause the appearance of pre-mature aging.
  • It is environmentally friendly in many ways; therefore, many individuals use it for its green living aspects.
  • It is also beneficial to those who suffer from sensitive skin, acne, dermatitis as well as many other conditions.
  • - Your Lips

Traditional types of lipstick and lipgloss consist of such ingredients as petroleum, phenol and various hormone-disrupting compounds, which can be harmful or cause an allergic reaction.

    - Your Face

Regular face makeup, such as foundation, blush, concealer and powders may contain chemical preservatives such as formaldehyde and paraben as well as synthetic perfumes to mask the true scent of the chemicals included and sometimes even various hormone-disrupting compounds

    - Your Eyes

Since your eyes are sensitive, you should take great care with any applications around them. Many forms of conventional eye makeup may include such harmful ingredients as petroleum and mercury based elements such as polyester, nylon and talc. They have the potential to encourage dermatitis and other risks of the eye area.

Whether you are choosing organic products for your lips, face or eyes, you can rest assured that organic makeup will not torture your skin with harmful substances, since they consist of healthy and wholesome ingredients to nourish your face and skin. If you have never tried using this type of makeup, you and your skin are in for a deliciously looking treat.

Remember to use makeup from reputable sources and always read the labels, just to make sure you are getting what you really want out of the money you spend for makeup, you enjoy wearing.
