Certified Organic Skin Care
What are you feeding your skin?
There’s much more to the organic lifestyle than just food. Certified organic skin care also plays a big role. What we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in it.Our skin is the largest, most absorbent organ of our body. We abuse it every day by exposing it to the harmful effects of the sun, pollution and harsh chemicals not only in the soap we use but in the skin care many of us use religiously. Our choice of healthy body care products is just as important as our choice of healthy foods. By using an organic skin care regime we can truly look after our skin without the harmful effects of the additives many companies use in their products. When deciding on a particular skin care product, look at its ingredients and ask yourself “Would I eat these ingredients?” Think about the drug patches available today like weight loss, stop smoking and even birth control. They work by being absorbed through your skin into the blood stream. If these patches work, then the synthetic chemicals from conventionally produced skin care products will surely be absorbed. Skin, like all other organs, will not show an immediate toxic reaction to one product or food. Toxicity in the body has a cumulative effect that doesn’t become evident until it overpowers the body and becomes detrimental. For this reason alone, we should use the cleanest, non toxic skin care products available. The solution...certified organic skin care! At one point in time or another, we’ve all experienced allergic reactions like rashes, hives, redness, stinging, dryness or dermatitis from using a conventionally produced skin product. Do you really think these skin irritations are ok? Many of these toxins found in skin care products are so hazardous that can have long reaching effects on other parts of your body. There are carcinogens which are cancer causing, teratogens that have been linked to birth defects, reproductive toxins which can cause male and female infertility, toxins which affect unborn babies called developmental toxins, skin and sense toxins related to skin diseases, allergenic toxins which cause allergies and mutagens which are a precursor to cancer. The frightening thing is that around 74% of the skin care products we use today contain one or more of these toxins. Another even more frightening statistic is that 99% of the approximately 14,000 skin and cosmetic products on shelves today have never been properly evaluated by any accountable institution. Many companies advertise organic skin care products but add ingredients that are not always so organic or illegally break the “cruelty free” laws by adding animal by products. By making the switch to a trusted certified organic skin care range we can be free of these toxins as the agents containing these toxins is replaced by a natural organic alternative. Shop around and you’ll find certified organic skin care products that – exfoliate, cleanse, condition, nourish the skin, hydrate the skin, moisturize and purify the skin. Tips In Choosing Certified Organic Skin Care Products: - Be aware that "natural" does not always mean natural because this term has often become misused. Many so called “natural” ingredients that these brands are using are mostly just "derived" from certain organic ingredients. But a certified organic skin care product is guaranteed to contain 95% - 100% of certified organic ingredients and no harmful synthetic chemicals.
- Keep in mind that a certified organic skin care product should be Environmentally Friendly and also Cruelty Free (not used and tested on animals).
- When looking to buy organic skin care products it is vital to check the labels thoroughly, make sure the product has been certified as truly organic by national or international accreditation organization. Do not buy any products where you cannot check what is in it. Organic skin care products can take the form of cleansers, toners and moisturizers as well as body care, shampoo and conditioners and make up items.
